Recovery in Practice UK - Oct 2024
“Recovery in Practice UK” (#RiP_UK) invites students, staff, and faculty, together with community members, to engage directly with the rich creative practices of our invited speakers and diverse community partners. Join us as we talk about how our recovery journeys inform and inspire our creative processes, focus our research trajectories, and serve as a force multiplier for the impact we have in our communities. Expanding upon the success of the 2023 “Recovery in Practice” program at Columbia University. RiP UK will host site-specific events at the University of Derby and Teesside University at the invitation of Dr David Patton and Recovery Connections. Each event will include a keynote conversations with the local project hosts; a series of publicly engaged dialogues between artists, researchers, and activists; a Recovery Roast coffee tasting event, and will end with a locally sourced Free Hot Supper hosted by Connections Community Cafe. “Recovery In Practice” expands on the Fifty/Fifty projects that John D. Freyer completed in 2018 at Tate Modern, London, Tate Exchange.
